MAHICO OPEN AIR

Saturday 14 November | Lismore Turf Club

This November, Mahico Open Air returns to Lismore Turf Club for the second edition of our boutique day festival, celebrating Latin American culture, world music, folktronica and organic electronic music.

Following an unforgettable Open Air gathering back in March, we're excited to welcome our community, along with plenty of new faces, back beneath the open skies for another day of music, culture and connection.

Headlining Mahico Open Air is one of Latin America's most celebrated folktronica artists, Rodrigo Gallardo, returning to Mahico after his memorable live performance three years ago.

A Chilean composer, multi-instrumentalist and former co-founder of the pioneering electronic folk project Matanza, Rodrigo has become one of the world's leading artists in the folktronica and organic electronic movement. His captivating live performances blend charango, Andean flutes, guitars and vocals with deep electronic rhythms, creating an immersive journey through ancestral traditions and contemporary sound. His career has taken him to some of the world's most respected festivals, including Fusion (Germany), Cercle (France), Envision (Costa Rica), Dreamersland (Poland) and Amanita (Argentina).

Joining Rodrigo is Mahico resident Moontide, the solo project of Byron Bay multi-instrumentalist Louis Tobin. Known for expansive, genre-fluid sets shaped by global influences, he's performed at festivals including Rainbow Serpent, Strawberry Fields and Boom Festival. A Mahico original — always welcome home.

Opening the festival is Lu Faria, our amiga from Brazil via Sydney, whose all-vinyl selections journey through records from around the world. She's followed by José López, bringing his signature blend of Caribbean and African rhythms, Funk, Disco and House to the Mahico dancefloor.

As the sun begins to set, Batala, a 17-piece Brazilian drumming ensemble, fills the festival with powerful rhythms before Mahico residents Pumah and XUJA lead into Rodrigo Gallardo's highly anticipated live performance.

More than just a music festival, Mahico Open Air is an invitation to slow down, reconnect and celebrate together. Wander through curated markets, discover incredible Latin American street food, share a drink with friends, dance beneath the open skies and experience a day where music, culture and community come together in one beautiful setting.
